Evangelism Marketing

What’s the ultimate in word of mouth marketing? Evangelism marketing has been deemed the leader in this arena. So what kind of marketing can be so worthy of such a provocative name as evangelism marketing? It is marketing in which companies acquire customers who are so brand loyal that they consciously attempt to convince others to purchase the product or service. The customers are strong advocates and as they spread the news, the very best kind of advertising, free.

This type of marketing should not be confused with affiliate marketing. In affiliate marketing there are programs established that involve incentives. Whereas, the difference lies in the fact that evangelist customers are motivated by genuine commitment and an interest in sharing the knowledge and the benefit with others. The action could almost be likened to a marketing form of "paying it forward".

By acting on their own free will, the power of an evangelist customer is almighty. Credibility and trustworthiness are ingrained in the message, hence making converts plentiful. Not to mention that it is a win-win-win situation. One individual has the good grace of sharing the good news, another benefits from an unbiased reference, and a product is promoted.

There are several steps that can be taken to enlist a volunteer sales force of evangelist customers. First, and arguably most important, continuously collect feedback from the customers. Next, make it easy as pie for your customers to share their product knowledge. This can be completed through community building where customers are encouraged to meet and share. From this a buzz may arise, and this provides the perfect opportunity to offer special "mini" size versions of the product for potential converts to sample. Pair these with a product/company cause and the deal is sweetened. When a business shows support for the world, and/or the beings in that world a sense of community is solidified. With a lot of planning, work and a little luck, the result is a better community filled with evangelist customers. In the end, it will all feel just right. Article written by between the shores
