One of the biggest battles with being in the bean bag business in the UK and US is the logistics side of things. Both our UK store Bean Bag Filling and our US store Bean Bag Filling suffer from the high courier costs of transporting bags of beans around their representative countries. Not only are the bags of polystyrene beads extremely large in size, but they can also easily be damaged in transit, resulting in millions of small polystyrene beans being released into the couriers vans and indeed onto the streets. In the US we can rely on UPS to transport our boxes of beans and in the UK Parcelforce. We have found that it is essential to actually box the polystyrene beans in cardboard boxes (which seems such a waste) to ensure they are delivered intact to the end consumer. A number of garden companies also struggle to get their goods from their warehouses direct to their customers. Garden Area and Garden Grown both claim to experience this problem on a weekly basis.
